The thesis
Prices commoditized. Reasons did not.
Event contracts turned public opinion into a live price. Anyone can read that price for nothing, and every serious participant already does. What none of them can cheaply produce is the discriminator: whether a given move carries information or is just flow, and whether the market has under or over reacted to it.
Producing that discriminator requires a labeled history of what followed moves like this one, from sources like this one, on contracts like this one. For equities that history exists and has been sold for forty years. For event contracts nobody was recording it. So we started recording it, and we publish the analysis rather than the tags.
So that is what we sell: not a faster number, but the answer that used to require a person watching five screens. Your systems get it in the seconds it is worth something.

The record is the asset
Not the algorithm. The fuse is a well understood pattern anyone can copy in a weekend. The archive, the calibration and the published error rate are what compound, and they cannot be bought retroactively.
Honest unknowns, always
A confident wrong answer is the only thing that can destroy a data vendor. So unknown is a first class published state, and we would rather emit less than guess.
Machines are the customer
We do not build for a human clicking around. No dashboard, no portfolio, no charts. If a feature needs a person to operate it, it is an advertisement, not the product.
One door, on purpose
Everything realtime goes through npayload. That gives subscribers keys, metering, replay, consumer groups and an audit trail we did not have to build, and it means the product cannot be quietly taken off to the side.
The relationship
